When Mauricio Pochettino entered the sack race in the summer, he probably wasn’t expecting his first meeting with former club Southampton to come after they have won six games on the trot and are sitting second in the Premier League.
This must be an odd situation for the Argentine. You see, when Pochettino decided he was to leave Southampton he seemingly spent a lot of time convincing his players to do the same. Telling them tales of ‘no ambition’ left at St. Mary’s. Those that took his advice (and the bigger pay-packet) might just be looking at the feel good factor at St. Mary’s and wondering if their former manager was barking mad.
